A representative with Cypress County confirmed that as of 2:15 p.m. on Sunday, 12 residences had been evacuated, no houses were impacted at that time, but some structures like quonsets had been.

After the alert was called off Cypress County’s General Manager of Community Services and Director of Emergency Management Joe Cartwright issued a statement.

“We were able to contain the fire and prevent any loss of residences due to the extraordinary efforts of our firefighters and partners,”said Cartwright.

A witness at the scene said there was a large number of fire vehicles on scene including a helicopter.
