The Interpretive Centre’s annual Birdseed Fundraiser is up and running in Medicine Hat

The Medicine Hat Interpretive Program has started its annual birdseed fundraiser.

Park Interpreter Rhys Mah Poy said this fundraiser has been going on for around five years, and is something they look forward to every year.

“It’s one of the fundraisers we do every year to help raise funds for the nature centre,” Mah Poy said.

“All of the donations go back into us and the programs that we run, because we’re always trying to put on as many public programs as we can.”

The Police Point Park Nature Centre is home to the interpretive program.

The interpretive program offers public nature programs for school groups, community groups, tourists, and local visitors at the nature centre all year long.

May Poy said it’s lovely that the fundraiser brings people in the community together.

“It’s just really fun to get to interact with members of the public and see our regulars every year and have those social interactions. It’s really nice to see them and catch up with people that we don’t always see all the time,” Mah Poy said.

“We have a long list of people that order from us almost every year. So it’s heartwarming and it’s really delightful to get to be a part of that.”

The first order will be sent through the same time the form orders close, on October 5, at 10 a.m.
