Spruce Grove girl, 9, dies in tragic accident Tuesday morning

RCMP in Spruce Grove say a nine-year-old girl tragically died this morning.

The incident happened just before 9 a.m., with initial investigation suggesting the girl was sitting on a skateboard, and when the skateboard rolled from the driveway to the road, she was struck by an oncoming vehicle.

The incident happened on Hartwick Manor, and police add the driver of the pick-up truck was uninjured.

RCMP remained on scene for several hours, and the investigation continues.
