Four female volleyball players from Medicine Hat win national title

A national gold medal has been won by four Medicine Hat female volleyball players at the 16 and under level in Ontario on Sunday.

Winning with Team Alberta Black at the Canada Cup was Anna Hodgkinson, Chloe Kube, Cameron Carlson and Paisley Retzler.

The Alberta team defeated Team Ontario Red three sets to one in the final.

Competing at the event for Team Alberta Blue was Georgia Potter, who just missed out bronze at the event with a loss to the Saskatchewan Green Selects team.

The female volleyball players are all part of the South East Alberta Volleyball Club that had won another national competition in May, which was the first ever for SEAVC.

It has been a impressive season from the SEAVC Rattlers 16U Girls Gold team, with their coach Lori Kobe also selected as the performance coach of the year in the women’s division, at Volleyball Alberta’s 2025 Mikasa Volleyball Awards Banquet.
