The Medicine Hat Tigers scored the first seven goals of Game 2 en route to a commanding 7-2 Game 2 victory over the Lethbridge Hurricanes.

Oasiz Wiesblatt and Bryce Pickford each found the back of the net twice while Liam Ruck, Misha Volotovskii and Josh Van Mulligen each added singles to round out the Tigers’ scoring.

Gavin McKenna had a five-point night, extending his point streak to 51 games, surpassing Alexander Radulov for the longest CHL point streak since 2000.

Medicine Hat chased Jackson Unger from the Lethbridge goal for the second consecutive night after he allowed seven goals on. 21 shots.

The Tigers’ backup, Jordan Switzer, also saw some action, relieving Harrison Meneghin early in the third period with the game well out of reach.

Kooper Gizowski and Anthony Wilson each found the back of the net in the third period for the Hurricanes to slow the bleeding and negate the Tigers’ shutout attempt.

Medicine Hat has now won eight consecutive playoff games, dating back to Game 4 of the first round.

The Tigers’ powerplay, which was held goalless in Game 1, went three for five in Game 2 while the penalty kill was a perfect four for four on the night.

Harrison Meneghin stopped 13 of 14 shots he faced on the night before being relieved by Switzer.

Meneghin improves his record to a staggering 8-0-0 this postseason after having been previously winless through his playoff career.

The Tigers now have a pair of days off between games before the series shifts to Lethbridge, where the Cats will aim to take a 3-0 stranglehold in the series.
