Medicine Hat’s north-end getting first dollar store by ‘early 2026’

Medicine Hat is getting a new dollar store.

Dollarama is opening a location at 97 Eighth Street N.W. “by early 2026,” a company spokesperson confirmed to CHAT News on Wednesday.

It’s the first such shop in the north-end Crescent Heights. The other three Dollarama sites are in the city’s south end, all within a three-kilometre radius.

“With this new location, we look forward to reaching new customers and providing additional convenience to existing customers in Medicine Hat,” the spokesperson said in a statement.

Dollarama was founded in 1992 in Matane, Que. and is headquartered in Montreal. It’s present all Canadian provinces and two of its territories, according to its website.
