Harrison Meneghin stopped all 18 shots sent his way, helping the Medicine Hat Tigers complete the second-round sweep of the Prince Albert Raiders.

The shutout is Meneghin’s second of the postseason, improving his record to a perfect 6-0-0.

“Harrison was great, he made some huge saves at crucial times in both games 3 and 4, he was locked in,” said Tigers Associate Coach Joe Frazer.

Tanner Molendyk and Hunter St. Martin each found the back of the net for the Tigers, while Oasiz Wiesblatt added a goal and an assist in the victory.

Gavin McKenna added an assist in the win, extending his point streak to 49 games, just one game shy of Alexander Radulov’s record for the longest single-season point streak in the CHL this century.

Medicine Hat dominated the game, outshooting the Raiders 57-18, including a 27-shot second period.

Over the two-game span in Prince Albert, the Tigers outscored the Raiders 9-1, and never trailed in their building.

“We really liked how resilient we stayed throughout this series,” quipped Frazer.

“That’s a tough building with very passionate fans, so we knew it was going to be a battle.”

This marks the first time the Medicine Hat Tigers have swept a playoff series since 2017, when they took out the Brandon Wheat Kings in four games.

The Tigers will make their first Eastern Conference Finals appearance since 2014, when they lost to the Edmonton Oil Kings in five games.

The Cats now await the winner of the series between the Calgary Hitmen and Lethbridge Hurricanes, which is currently tied 2-2, with Game 5 going Friday night in Calgary.

No matter what, the Tigers will have home-ice advantage in the Conference Finals, getting the advantage of a passionate fan base behind them, some of whom even made the trek out to Prince Albert.

“We really want to thank our fans that travelled to PA to come cheer us on. That was incredible to see and we can’t thank them enough.”

Dates and times for the Conference Finals remain TBD.
