Brooks Bandits player Bibby commits to play NCAA

The Brooks Bandits continue to be a powerhouse in getting players recruited at the NCAA Division I level.

The Bandits announced Tuesday that forward Luke Bibby has committed to the University of Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs for the 2025-26 season.

The 2004-born forward from Brantford, Ont. has played two seasons in the British Columbia Hockey League with Bandits and previously the Vernon Vipers.

Bibby who previously played with the Bandits during the 2022-23 season in the Alberta Junior Hockey league, was brought back to the Bandits at the Feb. 10 trade deadline.

He put up 18 points over the final 15 regular season games, and currently sits tied among Bandits playoff scorers with seven points in five playoff games.

Bibby was named the team’s Unsung Hero at the Bandits Team Awards ceremony.

Nineteen players on the Bandits current roster are now committed to NCAA Division I schools:

The Bandits remain focused on the Interior Conference Semifinal, which begins this weekend in Brooks at the Centennial Regional Arena.

The Bandits host the Sherwood Park Crusaders for game one on Friday and game two on Saturday.
