Apr 14, 2025 | 12:54 PM

A Brooks high school was placed on lockdown Monday morning after a report of a potential threat, police say.

Brooks RCMP received the threat report for Brooks Composite High School at approximately 8:25 a.m.

For everyone’s safety, the school was immediately placed on the lockdown, the Mounties said in a statement sent early Monday afternoon.

RCMP attended and completed a thorough search of the school and found no threat, police said.

The school was then placed on a hold and secure while the investigation progressed.

An investigation revealed that there was no direct threat to the school, however, did involve students from the school.

RCMP has arrested a male youth in relation to this threat. He was arrested at his residence in the nearby hamlet of Tilley.

The investigation continues, police said.
