Three-person panel to discuss advantages of Alberta sovereignty tonight

Apr 9, 2025 | 2:03 PM

A three-person panel will discuss the advantages of Alberta sovereignty tonight in Redcliff.

The Alberta Prosperity Project’s 7 p.m. event is taking place at the German-Canadian Harmony Club.

Mitch Sylvetre, CEO of the project, economist Tanner Hnidey and Alberta Prosperity Society Dennis Moory will round out the panel.

“Help us make sovereignty for Alberta happen,” reads a poster for the event.

The panel was originally planned to take place at Medicine Hat’s Chinook Village.

An individual affiliated with the event told CHAT News the centre backed out of the booking.

Aware Medicine Hat, a left-wing group, says it plans to listen, ask questions and sing the national anthem.

The prosperity project, also known as APP, floated sending a delegation to meet U.S. President Donald Trump to see if he supported ties with an Alberta separate from Canada.

An April 6 Angus Reid poll found that one in four Albertans would vote to leave Canada if a referendum were held tomorrow.

That number rises to 30 per cent of Albertans if the federal Liberals form government in Ottawa after the April 28 election.
