Nomination period opens for Medicine Hat’s 2025 Community Spirit Awards

Nominations opened Tuesday for an award recognizing those who have made a remarkable contribution to the community and have enhanced the quality of living in Medicine Hat through their actions.

The 2025 Community Spirit Awards nomination forms are due by 4:30 p.m. at June 16. The awards, which take place every other year, will be presented at an Oct. 8 ceremony at the Esplanade Arts and Heritage Centre.

Residents can nominate deserving individuals for the seven categories of arts/culture, sports/recreation, compassion, environment, community inclusion, volunteerism and civic pride.

Nominations are also being accepted for a pair of excellence awards: the Heart of Medicine Hat and Change Maker awards.

Nominees may be residents of Medicine Hat, Redcliff or Cypress County, however, the extraordinary contribution must benefit residents of Medicine Hat, the nominator must be a resident of Medicine Hat and nominees must agree to the nomination.
