Bird scooters return to Medicine Hat for the 2025 season

Mar 28, 2025 | 2:58 PM

The electric Bird scooters are back in Medicine Hat for a fourth year in a row.

Medicine Hat said Friday that nearly all of them are back for their annual migration back into the city.

Residents travelled 63,000 kilometres on the scooters in 2024.

The rideshare service, provided by Bird, started as a pilot project in 2022.

Last year, it graduated into a fully-fledged one-year contract with the city that includes the option to renew each year for the next four years.

Ridership of the mobility service has traditionally increased year-over-year and, last year, the ride service added bicycles.

It wasn’t immediately clear if the bikes are back for 2025, too.

The Bird app used to locate the electric scooters and bikes can be downloaded from the App Store and the Play Store.
