Mar 25, 2025 | 3:05 PM

An unlicensed mechanic allegedly pulled out a firearm during a disagreement with a customer last week, Brooks RCMP says.

The victim said he took his vehicle to the mechanic for repairs, police said in a statement Tuesday.

When the work was taking longer than originally quoted, the victim went to the shop last Friday to ask about the repair status and payment.

Police arrested the mechanic and found a black airsoft handgun and .22LR ammunition at the property.

A 58-year-old man was charged with assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes.

He was brought before a Justice of the Peace and released to appear in court on April 16, police said.
