Highway 3 closed briefly due to motor vehicle crash

Cypress County EMS responded to a motor vehicle accident on Highway 3 between Medicine Hat and Seven Persons on Tuesday morning.

Redcliff RCMP also responded to the two vehicle accident on Highway 3 near the intersection of Township Road 114 at 6:34 a.m.

Mounties said that a westbound pickup truck lost control and entered the lane of an oncoming passenger car.

The driver of the pickup truck reported no injuries, while the driver of the passenger car was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say that snow covered slippery roads were a factor in the collision.

Meanwhile city emergency services crews were called to Gershaw Drive and the Trans Canada Highway in the supper hour Monday night.

One lane was shut down to clean up after a motor vehicle accident but no serious injuries were reported.
