Medicine Hat Tigers see increase in attendance at season’s mid-point

Dec 27, 2024 | 12:39 PM

The Medicine Hat Tigers have reached the halfway point of their 2024-25 Western Hockey League season.

Through 18 home games this year, the team has averaged 3,544 fans, which is an increase of 351 per game over the prior season.

This is the third straight year the team has seen attendance numbers go up, and their highest average since the 2016-17 season.

The Tigers sit 14th of 22 teams in the WHL for average fan support.

But the Tigers are one of only five teams across the league’s 22 to see an increase in attendance this season along with the Prince George Cougars, Moose Jaw Warriors, Prince Albert Raiders and Swift Current Broncos.

The Tigers are back in action Saturday night when they host the Lethbridge Hurricanes at 7 p.m at Co-op Place.

Will Bryant and Lance Doll will have the call on Wild 94.5 starting with the pre-game at 6:30 p.m.

Special Paw Patrol jerseys will be worn by the Tigers on Saturday during Nickelodeon Night, auctioned off online until Dec. 31 at 2 p.m. in support of the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation.
