Here is what the Medicine Hat library has planned for teens

Aug 27, 2024 | 7:53 PM

The Medicine Hat Public Library is ramping up its teen programming as summer wraps up and the school year begins.

From its TIC TOC teen committee to increased library teen takeovers to “101” information sessions, the library has lots on over the next two months.

Unity circles — a safe space to make friends, learn self-care skills, have fun and find supports — runs from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sept. 10 and Oct. 15.

Anime parties will run from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 5 and 19 and Oct. 10, 17, and 31. Teens will vote what to watch each week.

There will also be a pair of teen library takeover nights each month that start at 6:45 p.m.

A teen movie night is scheduled for Sept. 13 and a Japanese festival on Sept. 27. Crafts and controllers is in play for Oct. 11 and the holiday-themed Fight Fest will run on Oct. 25.

A pair of “adulting 101” sessions are in store as well. Topics include saving for the future on Sept. 26 and taxes on Oct. 24.

October will be capped off with an anime party on Oct. 31.

A full schedule and more can be found on the library’s Teens page.
