The Medicine Hat community is rallying around the 15-year-old son of Wild 94.5 and MY 96 FM program director Mike Doll.

DONATE: Support Christian Doll GoFundMe fundraiser

Christian Doll, who was in an accident, is fighting bravely against a devastating brain injury with the support of dedicated medical professionals at the Foothills intensive care unit in Calgary.

At this time, the teenager is in a coma. Christian is unable to breathe on his own or open his eyes.

An online fundraiser has been set up to cover medical expenses, rehabilitation costs, and essentials for the family during this critical period.

Over $70,000 was raised as of Tuesday afternoon.

“We remain hopeful every day that he will make small improvements, but know that his brain is deeply impacted,” his family said on the fundraiser posted Sunday.

Christian, son of Mike and Josie and brother to Mikka, is a beloved member of the Medicine Hat community.

He is known for his passion for hockey, golf and working out, his deep love and dedication for his family and friends and his quick witted intelligent nature, his family said.

He is the best son, brother, teammate and friend anyone could have, they added.

This devastating accident has not only impacted him physically but has also placed an immense emotional and financial strain on his family, who are constantly by his bedside.

The road to recovery will be long and challenging for the teenager.

As Christian battles to regain his health, his family needs the community’s support.

Medical expenses, therapy and the costs of daily living during this difficult time are rapidly mounting.

Christian and his family are asking for donations during this time.

“We also ask for as many prayers as you can say as we know miracles happen every day,” the family said.

Once expenses are covered, any leftover funds will be donated to the Foothills Hospital Foundation and Ronald McDonald House.

The family has also asked for privacy at this time.
