Slumping Toronto FC in tough against a Columbus Crew side operating in high gear
Mired in an eight-game winless streak that includes five straight losses, struggling Toronto FC finds itself in tough again Saturday when it visits the defending MLS champion Columbus Crew.
The two teams have been heading in different directions.
After picking up 10 of a possible 15 points from its first five games of the campaign (3-1-1), Toronto has collected just 14 of a possible 51 in the 17 games since (4-11-2). TFC (7-12-3) arrives at Lower.com Field in eighth place in the Eastern Conference, 12 points behind third-place Columbus which has three games in hand.
Toronto has been outscored 13-4 in consecutive losses to Orlando, Atlanta, New York Red Bulls, Nashville and Chicago. Its last league win was May 18, a 5-2 decision over visiting CF Montreal.
