Park upgrades in Medicine Hat continue.

Work to remove, relocate, and replace the existing high board rink at Jeffries Park with a new multi-use high board outdoor rink will begin on April 22.

This project aims to enhance the facility and extend its usability throughout the year, city staff said.

Demolition of the existing rink is scheduled to start in the first week of May and will involve the salvage of reusable materials. This phase is expected to last one week.

Construction of the new rink at the relocated site will begin in the second week of May, with completion targeted for the end of June.

During this period, access to the construction area will be prohibited to ensure public safety. Residents are requested to adhere to all posted signs and barriers around the construction zone.

The adjacent paths and recreational areas of Jeffries Park will remain accessible to the public, and every effort will be made to minimize disruption to the community, staff said.

The City of Medicine Hat said in a statement it would like to thank residents for their patience and understanding as these improvements are completed.

The city also recently started upgrades at three other parks.
