This is the week in review for March 24-30, a look back at the top stories that shaped Medicine Hat over the last seven days.

🏛 Mayor makes moves, report released

Nearly a week after council voted to place sanctions on her powers, Mayor Linnsie Clark revealed her plans to fight back and regain her lost mayoral responsibilities.

Clark on March 27 said she has filed for judicial review and it’s an expeditated process that she expects will bring a court date this summer.

The Kingsgate Legal report was released earlier in the week. A day later, Clark published a less-redacted set of her own revealing documents.

CHAT News also launched ClarkWatch, a new page where all our coverage of the sanctions on the mayor, Medicine Hat’s reaction and more can be found.

🌆 New charity comes to Medicine Hat

The Medicine Hat YMCA is planning to open a thrift store in the old location of The Post, a beloved community store that closed last November.

Monday raised through the incoming Y Treasure Thrift Store will be reinvested back into the local charity and aims to provide new volunteer and employment opportunities, similar to what The Post used to do.
