‘This store is permanently closed’: Post thrift shop closes

Nov 28, 2023 | 4:48 PM

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The Post Thrift Store downtown Medicine Hat has closed its doors, according to a sign visitors found Tuesday.

“This store is permanently closed,” reads a sign on the door.

Residents have posted on social media questioning the sign.

The Post was operated by the Canadian Mental Health Association’s Alberta Southeast Region.

All money raised at the thrift store stayed in the community and supported the association’s programs and services, according to an archived version of the thrift store’s website.

Visitors to the CMHA Alberta Southeast Region website are redirected to a home page.

The Post was active on its Facebook page most recently on Nov. 23.

The board chair of the Canadian Mental Health Association has yet to respond to a request for comment from CHAT News.
