LETHBRIDGE, AB – Six people in southern Alberta are facing charges following an investigation by ALERT (Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams).

The investigation was part of an effort to disrupt fentanyl trafficking, particularly in downtown Lethbridge. ALERT Lethbridge worked alongside the Lethbridge Police Service (LPS), and issued arrest warrants on December 14, 2023.

Police say multiple seizures were made over the course of the investigation, all involving small amounts of fentanyl and methamphetamine.

Inspector Russ Lawrence with LPS said, “Interrupting the supply of drugs to our addicted population is critical to saving lives and reducing harm in the downtown core and throughout the community.”

The following suspects have been charged with at least one count of drug trafficking:

  • Curtis Wilson, 31, Taber
  • D’artangan Pool, 28, Lethbridge
  • Anthony Johnston, 29, Coalhurst
  • Bryson Northpeigan, 20, Lethbridge

In addition, arrest warrants have been issued for Robert Ambrus and Stacey Hubbard, both of Lethbridge.

Members of the public who suspect drug or gang activity in their community are asked to call local police, or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
