Saskatchewan moves to ensure right to wear a poppy

REGINA, SK. — Saskatchewan is taking steps to ensure the right to wear a poppy after Premier Scott Moe says the government received reports that workers within provincial government organizations were denied the opportunity.

The Saskatchewan Remembrance Observation Act was highlighted in the government’s speech from the throne delivered by Lieutenant Governor Russ Mirasty last week.

Moe did not provide any details on the incidents that apparently led to the government’s decision to pursue a legislative solution, when he was asked by reporters prior to Mirasty’s speech.

Moe said it was his understanding there were one or maybe two situations at government organizations, and some reports from other areas as well. (CTV Regina)
