Utility Rate relief a three step process says City
Medicine Hat, AB–The city’s Managing Director of Energy Rochelle Pancoast says addressing residents concerns around utility rates is really a three part process.
The first part happened in September when city council passed $33-million in immediate relief for residents and business owners. That relief is being applied directly to utility bills.
The second part is now before city council where it is looking to amend the Electrical Utility Bylaw to set an interim rate.
This interim rate would be in effect while the city does its homework around the approach to the energy business.
