In Time combines adventure with Medicine Hat history

MEDICINE HAT, AB – Hatters can play a part as our city’s history will come to life at the Esplanade and the Ewart Duggan House on Sunday.

In Time is described as a combination of historical re-enactment meets escape room.

Jasmine Bowen, owner and co-founder of Live History that is presenting In Time, says it has been showcased in 10 countries and 300 venues around the world.

The stakes for each are high.

“We have customized our show with local characters who have stepped out of time. They are exhibits come to life and you need to help them get back to their own time,” Bowen explains. “There are missions, tasks, clues, puzzles, interactions with the characters. You have an hour from when you arrive to help them otherwise they and all of history after them may be erased.”

She says In Time has something for everyone, making it perfect for history buffs, museum aficionados and escape and adventure room fans.

In addition to the fun and drama, In Time is often a learning experience.

“We often hear of people coming who say that they’ve lived in this town their whole life and they’ve either never been to this venue or they were never aware of this historic personality or this moment in time,” she says. “And that is our goal: to tell the stories that are in danger of being forgotten.”

There are family slots available in the afternoon and adult-only slots in the evening.
