Alberta RCMP issued over 2,300 tickets Heritage Day long weekend

Throughout Heritage Day Long Weekend, Alberta RCMP conducted traffic safety enforcement across the province, issuing 2,317 tickets.

From August 4 -7, RCMP issued 1,195 tickets for speeding, 69 seat belt violations, and 38 for distracted driving.

Mounties also reported four fatalities as a result of vehicle collisions and charged 83 impaired drivers.

Mounties said in the release, traffic safety is a combined effort that is everyone’s responsibility and if you do see someone driving dangerously, call 911.
