First Street SE to be resurfaced overnight on Wednesday

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The City of Medicine Hat announced on Wednesday that resurfacing on First Street SE between South Railway Street SE and North Railway Street SE, will be taking place overnight from Wednesday evening into Thursday morning.
Work will commence at 9 p.m. and continue until 7 a.m. on Thursday. During construction, First Street SE between Sixth Avenue SE (near Towne Square) and Maple Avenue (near Tim Hortons) will be closed and traffic will be detoured via Finlay Bridge on the west and the Allowance Avenue overpass on the east.
The sidewalks will continue to be open during the construction and the road is expected to reopen by 7 a.m. Thursday morning.
The city asks travellers to obey all construction signage and detours around the work area for the safety of the workers.
