City announces application date for three development incentives
MEDICINE HAT, AB – The City of Medicine Hat will soon be accepting applications for three development incentives intended to better the community.
On May 15, applications will open for the Waterfront District Housing Incentive, the Waterfront District Vibrancy Incentive and the Infill Incentive. They are designed to encourage development and redevelopment in the community and stimulate investment, create jobs, and support targeted economic growth that would not have otherwise occurred, the city says in a release.
“These incentives have supported some wonderful business enhancements in our community and even helped new businesses get off the ground,” says city manager Ann Mitchell.
According to the city, last year the development incentive program supported local businesses such as Station Coffee Co., Domain Crossfit, Poolhouse Café & Roastery, Foodland IGA, and Sunday Dinner Home Store.
