Additional charges laid in Maple Creek sexual assault investigation

MAPLE CREEK, SK. — A man charged with sexual assault and sexual interference, has been arrested a second time.

RCMP at Maple Creek received a report of an additional historic sexual assault on April 28.

As a result, 64 year old Dexter Bacsu was re-arrested and charged with one count of sexual assault and another count of sexual interference.

He was previously charged on April 26.

The suspect was a long time teacher in Maple Creek schools and continued to work as a substitute teacher until recently.

Chinook School Division has advised he is no longer an employee.

He also served as a volunteer in local youth sports and music programming, including as a coach and trip chaperone.

Investigators continue to believe there may be other victims.
