MEDICINE HAT, AB – Knowing that the weather in Alberta can turn on a dime, Cypress County is watching closely on two potential disaster fronts.
We’re heading into spring and therefore an increased risk of grass fires. But there’s also plenty of moisture on the ground, bringing the idea of overland flooding into play.
Emergency services coordinator Jason Linton joined Dan Reynish on CHAT News at Noon to talk about those dangers, monitoring them on a daily basis and the new South Alberta Fire Rescue Academy in Prairie Rose Public Schools.
