MEDICINE HAT, AB – Medicine Hat Police Service has set up memorial books in honour of the two Edmonton police officers killed in the line of duty last week.

City police say members of the community are invited to the lobby of MHPS to sign the books in for Const. Travis Jordan and Const. Brett Ryan. The books will be available from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. from March 21-23. Following that the books will be provided to the families of the fallen officers.

As well, flags at City of Medicine Hat facilities have been lowered to half-mast to recognize the officers. The flags will remain lowered until sunset on the day of their memorial service.

A regimental funeral for Jordan and Ryan is scheduled for Monday, March 27 at Edmonton’s Rogers Place at 1 p.m.

Details, including for the funeral procession, are being finalized by the Edmonton Police Service and the families of the officers.

The constables will be moved to Serenity Funeral Home from the medical examiner’s office on Tuesday. They will remain there until the funeral.

EPS says the public is encouraged to show support by lining the procession route if they wish.
