BROOKS, AB – RCMP are searching for a stolen car that was taken in a residential neighborhood in Brooks.

Around 8:30 a.m. on Jan. 17, the vehicle owner was trying to warm up their car and left it running unattended.

When the victim returned, they noticed a man in their front passenger seat.

The owner attempted to stop the suspect, but RCMP says the male suspect accelerated and drove away, causing minor injuries to the victim.

Police in Brooks are searching the area for the suspect and a beige 2004 Toyota Corolla with the AB license plate CDN 8566.

The car is also described as having a distinct scratch located on the rear driver’s side bumper.

RCMP say the suspect showed no regard to the owner or public safety while fleeing the scene.

The man accused is described as having a light complexion, a stalky build, a round face with a large nose and acne, dark unkept hair around ear length, and being between the ages of 40-60.

The suspect was also observed smoking a cigarette.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call the Brooks RCMP at 403-794-4400.
