VIDEO: Filmmaker Luke Fandrich is uncovering the history and stories of the Monarch Theatre

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The Monarch Theatre opened in downtown Medicine Hat on Dec. 21, 1911.

Local filmmaker Luke Fandrich spent most of this year capturing the history of the Monarch for his documentary Your Cinema Needs You,” that he aims to release in 2023 and which could be a year of revival for the theatre.
