Stolen property, vehicles recovered in Brooks

BROOKS, AB – Brooks RCMP recovered close to $20,000 worth of stolen goods and two stolen vehicles from separate locations in that city earlier this month.

Two Brooks residents have been charged and police anticipate more charges being laid.

According to police, On Dec. 9 RCMP executed a search warrant at a business on 15 Avenue West in Brooks. About $20,000 worth of stolen items were recovered from two storage lockers. As well, two vehicles that were stolen from Taber were recovered from the 200 block of Upland Boulevard in Brooks.

“The investigation is continuing, and we anticipate more charges being laid on this file,” said Const. Aaron Lagace of the Brooks RCMP. “We will seek out those who intend on victimizing the residents of Brooks and hold them accountable for their actions.”

Brooke Mintz, 28, of Brooks is charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and failing to comply with release order conditions.

Travis Seitz, 31, of Brooks, was charged with break and enter, theft of motor vehicle and flight from peace officer.

Mintz and Seitz remain in custody following bail hearings. Mintz is due in Medicine Hat Provincial Court today, Dec. 21, while the next court appearance for Seitz is set for Jan. 4, 2023 in Medicine Hat.
