Redcliff RCMP Stuff the Cruiser is back

REDCLIFF, AB – Even the extreme cold wasn’t going to stop Redcliff RCMP and community members from helping to provide everyone with a good meal and some basic necessities this time of year.

All afternoon Wednesday, RCMP have been parked at Redcliff Family Foods, hosting the detachment’s second annual Stuff the Cruiser Holiday Food Drive.

Food and cash donations are being collected for the Root Cellar Food & Wellness Hub. Condiments, flour, pasta, soup and hygiene products are some of the Root Cellar’s most needed items.

Redcliff RCMP Staff Sgt. Michael Courty told CHAT News a little more than an hour into the event that donations had been coming in quickly.

“We already filled one of our pickup trucks and our cruiser and we had the Root Cellar come and take the stuff down so that we could make room for some more and we have quite a bit of cash donations so far so it’s going well,” he said.

Courty said the detachment wants to make sure that everybody has a good meal so that they can get together over Christmas and have an enjoyable holiday.

Representatives from town council, bylaw and Citizens on Patrol were also braving the frigid temperatures to lend their support.

There is still a little bit of time left for you to donate, as RCMP members will be at Family Foods until 6 p.m.
