Mechanical failure, says city

Crestwood Rec Centre temporarily closed

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The Crestwood Recreation Centre is temporarily closed effective immediately due to a mechanical failure.

In a news release, the City of Medicine Hat says staff are investigating and will provide more information including an anticipated timeframe for reopening when it is available.

Scheduled programs will be moved and accommodated where possible, postponed or cancelled where required, says the city. User groups with bookings will be contacted directly.

The centre was closed in July for what the city called necessary routine maintenance in the pool area. It reopened in February of this year following a nearly two-year closure due to the pandemic.
