How local ridings voted in the federal Conservative leadership race

MEDICINE HAT, AB – Pierre Poilievre secured a massive victory in the federal Conservative race on Saturday.

The longtime MP captured nearly all of the country’s 338 ridings and had nearly 70 per cent support from party members.

Here in southern Alberta this is how party members voted:

Medicine Hat-Cardston-Warner

Scott Aitchison 19 0.68%

Roman Baber 67 2.88%

Jean Charest 59 3.09%

Leslyn Lewis 323 11.59%

Pierre Poilievre 2,319 83.21%

Bow River (Brooks and area)

Scott Aitchison 15 0.48%

Roman Baber 74 3.25%

Jean Charest 61 1.94%

Leslyn Lewis 345 11%

Pierre Poilievre 2,651 84.27%

Poilievre has already begun transitioning into his new role as leader, having just over a week to do so before the House of Commons resumes on Sept. 20.
