Haller bringing energy and fun to Stampede show

Jul 21, 2022 | 4:23 PM

MEDICINE HAT, AB – Nate Haller knows that not everyone in the crowd is a fan of his. That’s just what happens when playing summer festivals.

But at each show, Haller seeks out specific people in the crowd.

“I like finding the people that don’t necessarily want to see me. You know, that are doing the cross-armed thing and I try to convince them, ‘come on, we’re having fun,” he says with a laugh.

Haller is one of this year’s breakout stars of Canada’s country music scene and will be the first to take the nightshow stage at the Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede next week.

Fresh off a Canadian Country Music Association nomination for the Rising Star award this week, Haller will open for Trace Adkins on Wednesday closing out Stampede’s first day.

“The whole band is so excited to play live obviously to be back playing live,” he says. “So we’re just going to try to bring the energy and hopefully, regardless of what’s going on, just take a pause and try to have fun.”

Haller has cemented himself as a party-anthem singer with the songs Broken and Somewhere to Drink.

Those songs contribute to the give-and-take energy that Haller feeds off of for his live shows and they’ve helped him build a strong fanbase barely a year into his solo career.

“Even before this whole pandemic thing, any chance to play is so exciting,” he says. “So I’m just, any energy I get back from the crowd is unbelievable so I’m just excited to get there and play.”

Tickets are still available for each of the nightshows on the Stampede website or at the office.
