CFSEA wants a range of input on Vital Conversations

Jun 17, 2022 | 12:22 PM

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The Community Foundation of Southeastern Alberta will check the pulse of Medicine Hat next week, gathering information to explore issues, opportunities and solutions in the community.

All residents of Medicine Hat are invited to Tuesday’s Vital Conversations lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Stampede Grandstand banquet room, where they will take part in two facilitated discussions lasting about 25 minutes each.

“We would love to hear the everyday person’s take on some issues in the community and we don’t just want those in the non-profit sector or stuff like that,” says the CFSEA’s program coordinator Hannah Minor. “We would love to hear from everyone and all groups within the community.”

The CFSEA uses what they learn to determine its granting priorities for the year which in turn hopefully influences citizens

The discussions will cover a wide variety of topics.

“We have nine pillars that we are covering and they range anywhere from physical and mental health to food security, housing, community engagement and belonging, all the way to business and the economy,” says Minor. “We really do try to cover almost as much as we can to get as much information as we can at the event.”

The findings of the event will be reported to the community and shared with community partners at a later date.
