Assault, firearms charges following ‘serious incident’ on Ross Street

UPDATE 3:45 p.m.: A Medicine Hat female faces assault and firearms offences following a serious incident Thursday evening on Ross Street.

Police say they responded to a report of a serious incident and a male in need of immediate medical assistance in the 1200 block of Ross Street in the early evening. Police found the male suffering from serious injuries upon arrival. He was transported to hospital and later flown to Calgary where he remains in stable condition.

According to police investigation revealed this to be an isolated incident between two people known to each other.

A 41-year-old female remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and numerous firearms offences.

The MHPS Major Crimes Unit continues to investigate, and no further information will be available until the conclusion of the investigation.

MEDICINE HAT, AB — City police responded to what they say was a serious incident in the 1200 block of Ross Street SE Thursday night.

It began in the early evening and was concluded by 10:30 p.m.

Just what happened isn’t being reported, but the Major Crimes section is investigating.

Police say it was an isolated matter with no danger to the community.
