UPDATE JUNE 13: The City of Medicine Hat says this scheduled maintenance has been postponed due to the current weather conditions. It will now likely be delayed until September, but further information will be shared as it becomes available.

MEDICINE HAT — Urgent electrical repairs to a section of powerline on Second Avenue North East, will mean a closure of the Finlay Bridge next Tuesday and Wednesday.

The city says the bridge needs to be closed to prevent access to the work zone.

In a release, the city says Second Avenue NE from First Street NE downtown to Third Street NE in Riverside, including Finlay Bridge and the adjacent alleys, will be closed.

Approximately 30 homes and two apartment buildings in the immediate work area will be without power from approximately 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, June 15. Affected residents have been notified directly.
