Kenney to make announcement Saturday about pandemic reopening plan

Albertans should know on Saturday if the province will go ahead with the second phase of its pandemic reopening plan.

Alberta Premier Jason Kenney says that’s the day he’ll announce a decision.

Kenney said on social media last night that the decision will be based on the latest data.

The premier ditched Alberta’s vaccine passport earlier this month as well as mask requirements for kids in schools and for children 12 and under in all settings.

The next step, planned for March 1, would see all mask mandates lifted, along with gathering limits and work-from-home rules.
