What’s open and closed in Medicine Hat and area for the holidays

MEDICINE HAT, AB – To give employees at least a little time off over the next few days, hours of operation will change for city facilities and services until we ring in the new year.

The Big Marble Go Centre will be open until 4 p.m. Christmas Eve and from noon to 5 p.m. on Boxing Day. From Dec. 27-30 it will be open regular hours before hours are shortened for New Year’s Eve and Day.

A reminder, the New Year’s Eve Fest planned there as been cancelled due to the public health measures announced by the province on Tuesday.

The Medicine Hat Public Library is open until 4:30 p.m. Friday and will be closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day and Jan. 2.

The Redcliff Public Library is closed the same days.

Medicine Hat Transit runs until 5:15 p.m.Christmas Eve and returns to regular service on Dec. 27.

The Esplanade is closed until Dec. 28, and open noon to 5 p.m. on Dec. 29 and 30, before closing until Jan. 4

The Root Cellar Food and Wellness Hub is closed until Jan. 3. According to a Facebook post, emergency hampers are available from the Medicine Hat Women’s Shelter Society, Miywasin Friendship Centre, Medicine Hat Regional Hospital, Addiction and Mental Holiday, Medicine Hat Public Library, The Inner Man and Our Collective Journey.

The city landfill is closed Dec. 25-27 and will open Dec. 28-31 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Redcliff Town Hall is closed Dec. 27-28 and Jan. 3.

The Cypress County office is closed from noon today until Jan. 4.
