Salvation Army Kettle Campaign in need of donations
MEDICINE HAT, AB- With Christmas less than a week away, the Salvation Army is pleading with the public to consider dropping some cash for the Salvation Army Kettle Campaign.
Captain David Dale, said they are 10 per cent behind in fundraising compared to previous years and with prices rising for food, they are seeing more demand than ever. Right now, the Salvation Army hands out about 120 meals each day to people in the city who are without.
“We are seeing a lot more people coming, and even our shelter we are seeing more people staying overnight,” he said.
The Salvation Amy has been in Medicine Hat for over 100 years. Aside from providing food and an overnight shelter, funds from the campaign are also used to support programming at their community resource center, which is open daily.
