DUNMORE, AB It’s a place where the spirit of Christmas comes to light. There are glistening shooting stars, lighted trees, and even a big screen timed to the tune of the holiday music.

There are over 15,000 twinkling lights at this home located on 510 3 Avenue. The lights have been lighting up this small community of Dunmore for three years thanks to Jenny Robinson, a self-proclaimed Christmas lover.

” Anything to do with Christmas I enjoy and being able to promote happiness and bringing families closer to each other, and just having the thought of families going around with something to do and there is no cost involved,” Robinson said.

The all-out Christmas spectacle conveniently called Dunmore Lights is attracting people across the province. Like this couple from Sherwood Park.

” It’s fantastic. They did a phenomenal job. I can’t believe how good it is. The combination of music and lights is just incredible,” one man said.

As the lights change color, helping bring that extra dose of cheer are her own children who help deliver treats to all the visitors.

” You get to see all the faces of all the smiles and everything. Seeing all the cars is also a nice thing because the community comes out and we are just trying to put on a show for them,” Keisha Robinson said.

The light show is all by donation and proceeds go towards supporting the Ronald McDonald House, a charity close to Robinson’s heart.

” I have some children that some medical issues and, just in case anything were ever to happen that I would need to use something up in Calgary when I would go to the Calgary Children’s hospital. I would like to be able to utilize that and it also helps other families,” she said.

Last year alone, Dunmore Lights raised over $3,300. Cassi Hider, the executive director of the Ronald McDonald House said Robinson’s efforts are admirable.

” The minute we said we are going to have a (Ronald McDonald House) she has been completely involved in supporting us through the last three years. She started out small, and now it looks enormous and wonderful, and her family is completely dedicated to bringing the spirit to the community of Dunmore and the rest of the residents in the south,” Hider said.

The light show runs from 5p.m. to 9 p.m. from Sunday to Thursday and from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
