Redcliff Re-Elections

Kilpatrick back for a second term as Redcliff mayor

REDCLIFF, AB – Medicine Hat voted for change but Redcliff stuck with what they’ve known for the past four years.

Dwight Kilpatrick was re-elected as mayor of the town and voters also gave a stamp of approval to all four councillors running for re-election.

Kilpatrick takes that as an indication most people were happy with the direction council has been taking the town.

“I believe if they were unhappy they’d have probably done something similar to Medicine Hat where they would have voted for change,” he said.

“When I was going door-to-door I had quite a few people tell me they were happy with the way things were,” Kilpatrick continued. “I mean you don’t always know who they’re going to vote for but they were happy with some of the things we’ve done and they were happy with our tax base and rates and comparable to other communities we’re doing very well.”

Kilpatrick says he’ll continue to get the town’s infrastructure fit for growth and economic development and continue to get the best value for dollars.

The mayor also congratulated everyone elected in Medicine Hat and Cypress County.

“We all have to work together. Some new faces are going to make for new interactions and I think that will be good,” he said.

Returning councillors Chris Czember, Cathy Crozier, Jim J. Steinke and Larry Leipert will be joined by first-timers Matthew St. Pierre and James K. Allen.
