Doors open at 5 p.m, proof of vaccination required

Mayoral and councillor forum tonight at Medicine Hat Exhibition and Stampede Cypress Centre

MEDICINE HAT, AB – A mayoral and councillor forum will be held tonight at the Medicine Hat Exhibition and Stampede Cypress Centre, ahead of the upcoming municipal election.

If you’re planning on going to the event, doors open at 5 p.m. and upon arrival, proof of vaccination will be required or a negative rapid test result taken within 72 hours. Documentation of a medical exemption will also be accepted.

Out of the 32 people running for council and five for mayor, 28 of the candidates are expected to be there.

Host Lorraine Dalla-Longa says they will be answering questions from the audience and the event is being held as safely as possible.

“They will sign in with their name, address and email address and then they also get to sign any questions they have,” Dalla-Longa said. “They write down the questions they have for the candidates.”
