STARS air ambulance says they will be receiving $1 million dollars from Tourmaline Oil Corp.

The donation, which is pledged over a five-year term, is to help support missions flown from STARS’ six Western Canadian bases, including Grande Prairie.

STARS president and CEO Andrea Robertson says they are grateful for the donation to help STARS care for the health and safety of the communities in which it operates and serves.

“We truly could not be there for the next patient who needs critical care across Western Canada without the steadfast support of donors like Tourmaline,” Robertson said.

“This commitment will enable STARS to continue fighting for the lives of patients when they need us most.”

Tourmaline’s president and CEO Michael Rose says the donation to STARS is in an effort to show their value in the health and safety of communities STARS serves.

“We’re excited to support STARS and ensure the highest level of critical care is available to people when they need it most,” said Rose.

“Our investment in STARS furthers our commitment to protecting the health and safety of our employees, contractors, and everyone who lives in and around our operations.”

STARS operates 24/7 to offer emergency medical care and transportation for critically ill or injured people out of Grande Prairie, Calgary, Edmonton, Regina, Saskatoon, and Winnipeg.

Tourmaline is Canada’s largest natural gas producer with positions in three of Western Canada’s major resource plays, one being the Peace River High Charlie Lake complex as well as the Alberta Deep Basin, and the northeast British Columbia Montney complex.
