MH Interpretive Program’s riparian walks are back

Jul 5, 2021 | 12:23 PM

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The first of three summer walks in the MH Interpretive Program’s Riparian Areas Rock! series takes place this Sunday.

The series aims to educate people on the importance of water bodies such as rivers, creeks and ponds on the Prairies. Home to cottonwood forest, fragile strips of willow and grasses, and wetlands, riparian areas are intricately connected systems that provide habitat for a multitude of species.

Medicine Hat has a variety of riparian areas to explore.

Space will be limited and registration must be done in advance by calling the Nature Line at 403-529-6225. The location will be given to those who register. The walk begins at 11 a.m.

The project is supported by a grant from the Land Stewardship Centre of Canada.

For more information on this or other upcoming events call the Nature Centre at 403-529-6225, visit natureline.info or find Police Point Park on social media.
