MEDICINE HAT, AB – A Medicine Hat actress and filmmaker is weeks away from starting production in the city on a miniseries starring Daniel Baldwin.

Chrystal Snow, owner of Break the Chains Films, says the city is a perfect spot to film Angel Dust because of the beautiful natural locations it offers like the river.

“Downtown has great historic buildings that certainly add value as well,” Snow explains in an email.

“Overall with the business friendliness in Medicine Hat combined with the lowest taxes in the country it just makes sense to film our series here.”

The one-hour pilot and two episodes of Angel Dust will be filmed in Medicine Hat from late July until the middle of August. Snow plans to film the first full season of the show in Medicine Hat next summer.

She says Angel Dust is a supernatural drama in which a guardian angel, in order to get back into Heaven, must help an aspiring actress cut the bad influences from her life and find the path she is destined to travel.

A casting call for extras and background roles will happen in mid-July. Snow says they’ll be looking for families with children of all ages.

Baldwin has had a long TV and movie career, with roles on Hawaii Five-0, The Sopranos and Homicide: Life on the Street.

Angel Dust was created by Snow, Devon F. Burdeyney and John Vella.
